Hi everybody,
A newbie to this site and desperado for some information please!!!!
I have 1995 (M) Discovery 3.9Efi V8, it drives a dream and has never let me down, HOWEVER.........
When the engine has been on a run and is at normal operating temperature and the car is brought to a halt, say at traffic lights or stopping to a halt generally, it has a tendancy to run lumpy as if it wants to stall, but never does!
The revs hop between 500 to 750rpm, but only when at a halt and only when running at operating temperature. I never get the issue when it is running from cold.
It almost feels as if a plug or lead is failing, but all have been replaced along with new oil, filters, rotar arm, disty cap etc etc. I opted for OEM parts for the reason that I believed that the previous bits were pattern, but still no joy.
The problem seemed to start almost from nowhere and have never had any issues before. I am guessing that something is failing, but am at a lost as to what? It is becoming a real hassle and I fear it is getting worse, albeit slowly.
Does anybody have any ideas. I want to try and avoid having to send her into LR as it will no doubt cost me a fortune for any exploratory investigation!
Many Thanks and great forum by the way!
Will.
