I'm on a roll today -- I discovered that when I am on the highway going maybe 70+ if I try to lower air suspension to access, it will lower. and stay there. If I slow down to maybe 20 or 30, suspension then raises automatically. I read the book / manual, and it doesn't look like I should be able to select access at these speeds. it wont select offroad height, it says "speed too high" or something

I know that the early MK3 range rovers did this automatically... any ideas? anyone else's truck allow this?

I'm not worried about it -- maybe just a fluke 2005 thing?

My 06 will allow you to go into access mode temporarily, after a short time it will raise back up again.

nash...you SURE it will let you stay there? I wonder how that would help fuel economy?

+1 on the staying there peice.... I can lower but it feels squirrely over any imperfections in the road (if you get my drift). Haven't tried locking lowered mode; though I can't imagine wanting to ride that low in our area; roads aren't smooth enough for the most part...

I havent tried playing with the suspension height settings at highway speeds, but I do remember reading about a 'high-speed' height as well.

I think it was automatically selected, after a certain amount of time above a certain speed.

Both the time and speed parameter are way to high for me to reach for where I drive, I think it was 85+ mph for 30 seconds or so.

I think its after you hit 93+ (or 103+, I forgot), it will drop an inch automatically. You will definitely notice it as the ride gets stiffer. I've selected access height while going on highway speeds and the indicator does indeed stay lit, but I don't think the actual truck does anything. I don't usually feel a difference in the suspension stiffness when it happens :dontknow: .

Suspension lowers 1 inch when speed reaches 160 km /h.No beeps , no flashes, just lowers to reduce a drag.

Yep Im sure it stays in access height

And I'm not locking it there... just one down command on the suspension lever. It def lowers too, I can feel it lower quickly ... and then it gets a little "bouncier" when its low. Cant be good for it, but I'm still a little surprised it allows me to do this. oh well otherwise air suspension is operating perfectly, no biggie... just amusing.

...I think if you're on a very smooth interstate it would not be bad for the suspension, and may help gas mileage when travelling between 55 and 70 MPH.

Correct. There is also an international branch but I believe they are separate from the main TAPS branch. The local TAPS actually had the international TAPS investigate one of their facilities; they wanted to make sure that personal bias wouldn't get in the way of scientific research. That's pretty admirable in my opinion. buy ER dvd
