discovery II (M & S)

2001 discovery II ,This morning something strange happened when i started the car both the (m & s) turned on at the same time on the dash & the (d) on the shifter started to blink. i drove for a while like that and pulled off to the side of the road turned off & on the vehicle and it went away.
" WHAT DOES THAT MEAN & SHOULD I BE WORRIED ?"

This is the limp home mode, generally it is related to a voltage issue, check the battery output as well as the alternator.
