Still exploring the limits of my LR4, I took off at a rest stop in access mode but then it automatically went into normal right height mode. Does anyone drive around in access mode?

I do not and you would have to program it to do so. I do wish it would lower a bit at speed. You could get numerous product to program this feature though.

No, and this is what was killing Rivian tires because Rivian allows driving at speed in their "conserve" mode (aka lower height). Access mode isn't how the truck's alignment is setup so I'd guess that prolonged driving will eat your tires.

If you get the XLifter, you can drop 15mm at the push of a button, I've done that for longer highway trips and found that curves on the highway feel more composed. The owner's manual says if you drive over 100MPH it will lower slightly. Haven't tried that though, never gotten close to triple digits in this thing.

There is an access mode lock feature on mine so I thought maybe that would keep it lowered while on the highway? The off-road height does not have a lock for it. Haven't tried access mode lock, but wanted to see what the forum thoughts are on it before I do something silly. Expensive equipment lol.

Interesting Rivian has a dynamic suspension, haven't heard of that but I've already explored the EV's. I love my air suspension deeply. I've been trying to be as efficient in driving as possible and thought if I lower the ride height would the mpg increase?

Starting in 2nd was a big mpg saver, especially when the engine is cold because it likes to stay in 1st longer while in D. Plus being in 2nd off road is way more efficient because it also eliminates the repeate 1-2 shifts. I just take it slow is all off the line and and then drop into and out of 4L while driving. Such a joy, its pure bliss.

There was someone here selling the XLifter, but I was sceptical of it doing damage somehow. Midly regretting that after getting stuck in a washout yesterday, but live and learn. Could have used extended mode to possibly keep the bottom from dragging up the bank.

I'm going to try access mode lock while at 0 MPH and then driving on the highway and then also be in normal mode at speed and try to drop it and see what happens. There will be a change in the angle of the CV joints so not sure if that will matter since if I trust in the engineering of the feature, if access mode lock allows me to drive at speed then maybe the CV joint is at a fine angle on the highway.

In normal mode I've been up to 115 MPH and over 100 MPH many times in 4th on private roads in mexico for over 5 seconds and I don't feel it lower down or back up, but I believe that it does lower its just more subtle and/or doesn't drop down very much.

I tried 0 MPH access mode locked to highway speed and it raised at around 50 MPH. Then on a descend from 3k' to 300' at 60 MPH coasting in 6th, I hit access mode and the icon on the DIC said it was in access mode. It gained a few more MPH to 65 MPH, couldn't tell it dropped at all. Didn't feel the front or rear go down at all. It seemed to be more evenly dropping and lifting. Access height didn't seem to make much aerodynamic difference before it lifted after a minute or two. It seems like maybe access mode after a specific speed is on a timer before it cancels out.

I would be concerned that the bags would be, or close to, bottomed out at access height. Bumps could d be harsh and potentially damaging?
