"electrical fault" ???

I have a 2000 4.6hse range rover and i get a reading almost one or twice a day on the dash say "electrical fault" when it says this, the gas gage and temp gage drop and the warning lights for those gages light up. It will just randomly go away and the gages will return to normal. It is very strange, can anyone tell me what this is??

I would start by checking your battery, then the ground stud under the steering column to make sure it isn't lose.
