That is a very hard code to track down and repair, if I had it, I would go to my mechanic.

I had the same code about a month ago. I bought a can of CRC MAF cleaner and sprayed the crap out of the Mass Airflow sensor. This cleared the code in less than a day and it hasn't come back. My rover is a 96 D1. I don't think this works on the 1999 and later D2s.

If you have a D1 try cleaning the MAF. Its cheap and easy doesn't take much time. Just be sure the MAF has cooled down and be sure to unhook it from the wiring harness before you try to clean it.

Wouldn't try it if it is a D2, cleaning that MAF has been causing many of them to fail, on older Rovers you can get away with it.
