engine noise

When ever Is on my 2005 LR3 It knocks an low rpm . The knock is constant it doesnt speed up when you rev the engine it just stays the same constant pace. Its a pretty noticable knock too. I Have no idea what this could be, please help.

What octane fuel are you putting in it?

From where is the knock coming? Dashboard? Engine bay? Does it sound like metal on metal? Plastic? Rubber?

Anything else? A ticking noise from engine bay is pretty vague. Without more, I think that the cooling fan is not directly attached to the crank, running on its own speed based upon temp; therefore, it could be ticking even though the engine speed changes. Otherwise, I'm stumped.
