new guy here saying hello . first time on and come to you with engine troubles . has anyone out ever have head gaskets leak on there 04 discovery 11 at 66,655 miles . and second question is this something i can do my self or should i take it to dealer/ outside mechanic.

i have an 2004 land rover discovery II with a 4.6L v-8 i bought it with 62,000 miles on it and now have 66,555 miles on it in less than 8 months . can anyone help me ???!!!

Yes, my 04 did it, within a few months after purchase at 66K miles. I suspect the previous owner knew and dumped it cheap when he heard how much it would cost. It absolutely needs to be fixed or it will be destroyed. Dealer costs are incredible... Read about how to do it. It's not really a DIY project without the right tools. This forum has lots of pictures about how to do it. Your next post could include your location and request nearby independent mechanics, get the estimate. Favor an outside mechanic who used to work at a land rover dealer.
