Engine Vibration introduced after service visit
Picked up my 2006 HSE (18k miles) yesterday from service after a weeks worth of work on it (steering knock/rattle, a couple of suspension faults, etc.) As I drove the vehicle off the dealership I noticed the car not running as smoothly and a bit sluggish/heavy. At first I thought that i was just feeling the difference between the loaner (chevy equinox) and my LR3, and that since the loaner was much lighter in weight maybe it had better pickup, etc. But then I started to notice a little vibration in the engine. I parked the car and just revved up a bit through the band slowly to see whats up. Indeed there is vibration now that was never there before. It is prominent at around 1k RPM and stays pretty much all the way up (I went up to like 3k or 4k rpms.) The engine also sounds much different now.
Looked at the work order copy, and noticed that hey had done some update on the ECU and according the notes it took care of some idling errors. Now prior to this service visit, and since a few weeks ago, although I had started to notice a dip in idle when switching from drive or reverse to neutral and vice versa, but I never mentioned anything about it to the service during this visit thinking that it was nothing abnormal. But was glad to see that they caught it themselves and fixed it (idling is good now). But now the vibration has come instead. Wondering if thats due to the update patch or something. Kinda bummed out as I know that my engine has been super silky all this time prior to this last service visit. Will take it back to them monday to see whats up. The battery was also replaced under warranty during this visit.
