Error Code Reader

Can anyone suggest a reliable and reasonably priced error code reader? I’ve had warning lights come on for a day then go off. I’d like to be able to check them immediately rather than wait to take it to a dealership.

Any OBDII reader should see the codes. Even if the light is off, they will typically remain in the system as Pending until manually cleared.

I have a 20$ Bluetooth one off amazon that hooks to my iPhone. Works great.
