hello i have just joined this forum hoping to get some good advice and some answers, i have a land rover freelander gs TD4 that has got 106000 miles on the clock and is running okay, but i have a problem with exessive smoke pluming out of the engine bay, it appears to be coming from the bottom of the engine and is rising up both sides of the engine once it is up to temperature. there was a minor oil leak that i have had fixed today, but the smoke is still making an appearance ( it gets worse when the engine is revved up) could the smoke just be oil residue burning off or could it be an indication of a more serious problem? any advice on the matter would be very greatfully received.:help::confused:

If you have found and fixed the leak, I would clean the engine and see if the issue goes away.
