Fault code / ecu

Can someone walk me thru the proceedure for pulling the fault coded from my 95 disco 3.9 ?? Not sure how the cover under the passenger seat is removed, seems tight in the center so I didn't force it but pulled the led readout out far enough to see. The display is black. Is the ecu bad or is there someway to reset it. All help is appreciated...going crazy with a stutter or miss around 45mph when starting up a grade...........taxchecker

Hope this helps... more info on the Disco would be good though i.e. last tune up... type of plugs you are using... wires last changed... miles on the Disco... last fuel filter change... has the fuel pump ever been changed?
