Hi Everyone !

I'm finally gonna get a Discovery, I've wanted one for years so I'm gonna scoot down to the USA to pick one up !! Whooo HOO!!!

But, what exactly is the differance between a Discovery and a Discovery Series II?

I can't find any info on that .... but someone here must know! (grin) I'm looking to get a
2002 or 2003 but if you have ANY suggestions I'd love to hear them! Is it true that the models don't overlap and skip a year in there someplace?

94-early 99 are the Standard Discovery or Disco 1
99.5 - 2004 are D2 or Discovery 2
the better years are always the last ones.... i.e. 99 D1 - 04 D2
05 to current are the LR3 or the Discovery 3

Major differences between them all... from D1 to D2 there were several hundred changes IIRC.

BTW- if I get an 02 or 03 will be getting the series 2 sort of by default?
Did they make the series one for XYZ time and then switch to the series two features by default, it would make sence.....?

Basically up to the LR3 model... after IIRC may or June of 99 you get a D2... with all the changes..

So and 02 0r 03 will be a D2
