Hello everyone,

This is my first time seriously considering buying a Range Rover. I’m currently deciding between the Range Rover Sport and the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Right now, we drive a Mercedes-Benz GLB, and I’m comfortable with that size, which makes the Discovery Sport appealing. However, the Range Rover Sport really stands out to me—it’s exactly what I’m drawn to.

I’ve also always heard that these vehicles can require a lot of maintenance, so I’d love to hear your experiences regarding reliability and upkeep.

I’d appreciate any advice on what I should consider before making a purchase, as well as the pros and cons of each model.

For context, I’ll likely be moving to the Mérida, Mexico area within the next 3–5 years. From my visits, I’ve noticed that some roads can be rough in certain areas, although there is a dealership nearby.

Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The RR will more than likely be better riding, think of RR the up market of Land Rover so you will get nicer options generally. They both can have their issues and if history repeats itself the biggest issue you will have is depreciation. Most of things that have issue in modern vehicles of any kind are going to be the computers and the screens. If I were spending the money I would get the RRS or upgrade to a defender even if you have to get one a year or two older.

Joey,

Thank you so much for the opinion. I still have a couple of weeks before I make my choice. In the meantime, I've been looking at the market and just doing research. I have primarily electronic vehicles, but this one will have the most for sure.
