Ive had this problem the past month. I have a 2000 Land Rover Discovery II automatic, about 113k miles. When I press on the gas i hear fluid "running" from under the shifter. A sound like liquid filling in a space. Once i start going, i no longer hear it again until i stop and start again. Any ideas?? is this a major problem? im not tech savvy at all, so i thought id try here first before i go to the dealer.

thanks.

sounds like either the A/C tubes are clogged or you are low on Antifreeze.

Thanks for the reply, Ill check my antifreeze. But how would I check or unclog the ac hoses? If i have no rear AC, does that mean its probably not that?

Not rear a/c... the front a/c line run down next to the transmission and could very well be backing up... when this does happen usually the floor around the transmission tunnel gets wet, but anything is possible.

If you slide under the Disco with your head almost to the front of the door on either side, and slide under the transmission if you look around you will see two (one on each side) rubber *******, either pull the end off or stick a coat hanger inside it to drain... if they are full of water you will get very wet with some nasty water, so be careful.

i've got a 95 disco with a 5 spd, 116,*** miles and i heard that noise this morning while parking mine, i went back to start it several hours later and it kept making a gargling noise. After about 2 or 3 minutes the gargling went away but now there is a whine coming from the passenger side in the engine bay. It sounds kinda like a supercharger but with come crackling on and off, i'm assuming it's the a/c but thought i'd ask you guys... thanks. Im gonna try and do the drain thing tommarow, are the plugs in the same location on d1s? The antifreeze is full according to the resevoir... A little off topic but how easy do yall think it is to change up the odometer on d1s??
