I replaced all my fluids in my 89 RR the other day, ( I do mean all. ) with Lucas oil products all went great until i did the two frnt hubs. drivers side little drip here an there no biggy. but the passanger side has a steady stream of oil coming out. I read something about replacing the 90 wt oil with one shot grease? Is this true? and is there other options of grease i could use? I have about 4 tubes of waterproof GREEN GREASE. for fittings. will that work ?

One shot is the recommendation by Land Rover they actually switched all vehicles over to this. Personally I would use the waterproof grease, but not sure 4 tubes would be enough for both sides.

I am sure others will say I am crazy for suggesting grease and not the one shot (i.e. grease and oil mixture)

First, sounds like you need to do some swivel work, seal kit and preload adjustments before you loose one of them.
As for the leak, you need to inspect the swivel ball for pitting which is a major cause for leaks.
Fix leak issues and use 1 application of Rover's new 1 Shot Grease per swivel, instead of gear oil for better protection and less, if no leaking.

I have two new gaskets for both sides, not sure if that is what i need to be replacing or is there actual seals i need to be looking for. been trying to research but not having much luck. I ordered the gaskets thru advanced and that was the only thing i could get, no seal kits. trying to avoid ordering off the net since not sure what i really need dont wanna get stuck with the wrong parts. Im gonna try the green grease , but after i try to fix the problem. also want to check my wheel bearing , brakes, etc. Is there any special tools required, or any tips or tricks you guys know? Never done this before so kinda intimidated, but am mechanically inclined. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. also THNX for the advise.

In the future, buy only from Atlantic British or Rover connection.
Down load a free Rave CD manual so you will know what to do.
Here is the seal kit, they also have any other part you need including the swivel grease packets, http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/9361.cfm
