Special tools to remove fuel pump.
The jpg below shows about the only special tool that the Brits use when removing the fuel pump.
In North America, we tend to do it the hard way - by removing the fuel tank rather than the body.
Other than being no fun and metric, I do not think any special tools are required. I think if you search some of the forums using for search words, fuel+tank+removal, you will find some threads.
Concentrate on the electrical - that is power to the pump before you start tearing things apart. Most LR problems are electrical and simple to fix but impossible to figure out.
