Went to pick up the LR3 today - unscheduled oil change, brake light, replaced valve & sensor right rear tire, and fixed sunroof latch. Anyway, they got confused on the oil change and didn't do it. Figured it out when I got there, and requested (again) they use full synthetic. Apparently the "Master Mechanic" and some other roving guru were both in the building and told them not to use full synthetic because they (the engine and the oil) "do not get along". I didn't get any more specifics, but I think I'll call back tomorrow and see if the rep had found out any more info - he was going to inquire.
Just seems like if it was a real issue, everyone (at least at Land Rover) would be aware of it.
Anyway, I can't think of any logical reason for this, but thought I would pass it along. If I find out any further details, I'll post.
