Gonna flush and fill my radiator

I am almost done with my major tune up. One of the last things on my list to do is flush and fill the radiator on my disco 1. I got the right coolant and I have instructions on how to do it. Anyone have any advice or anything I need to know before I give it a shot?

Have fun.... also keep in mind if the hoses are older than a couple years, change them as well.

The bottom 4 way hose is real fun, and you might want to keep an old one around, that is the only hose you will never find locally.

You might want to give the radiator a flow or "gush" test, even a D1 with 75K miles and well cared for will have a slower gush or drain down meaning partially plugged up. This is normal over time and mileage besides it's a aluminum motor. Remove both top and bottom hoses, plug bottom or seal with hand, fill radiator, pull away hand. The water should gush out at a good rate. If it seems to linger on the drain your partially plugged up. What is cheaper, rod out the radiator or recore or possible motor replacement due to overheating in the future?
