No. (DVD play? There isn't a "factory" integrated DVD player in LR3!)

"753" is how you access the "official" test/diag interface... for both the Navigation system and the Touchscreen core system. That was known since day one. This is what your service department may use... and it's "read-only" -- can't change anything.

I just did the LR Experience Driving School in Carmel, CA (I'll post details in a separate post). Anyhow, the spotter/trainer did not know about the "cheat" for the NAV; he was very appreciative of the information.

These message boards are great. Thanks for all the info everyone...

I admit I tried this several months ago, so the details are a little fuzzy...
but I could not get the 'secret' keypad to come up. I think I tried while parked and moving, but I don't think I pressed for more than 10-15 seconds. There is a 'beep' sound, but the screen does not change. My software had a MAJOR overhaul/reboot in 11/05. The car is an '06.

I'm sure I pressed in the area as the pictoral shows, I'm just baffled that it seems so flawless and easy for everybody but me (and 24hrs)

24Hours,

About a month ago I had work done on the LR3, including a big software download. Noticed that the hack entrance did not bring up the keypad. In frustration I held my figure in place for about 30secs or more and then it came up. Since then it comes up in the usually timeframe, 5-7 secs.
Hope that will also work for you.

Jim,
Thanks for the response. I finally got the keypad to come up again, but even after entering the code, the grey-scale buttons don't open up for on-the-go NAV inputs.

Perhaps there is more user's error. Jim, did you get full access again w/ the same code?

TIA

24hours,

if moving only two boxes are enabled. Touch the top center until keypad comes up on screen. when keypad comes up, type in 1791, hit the enter key. blank keypad comes up again then hit the "go back" (key in the upper right hand corner). after that I get all four boxes enabled.
hope that helps

Nav Entry on the fly

Hmmm....according to a cetain website. The 2007 RR Sport gets some new features including:

Navigation destination entry on the move
One shot passenger window
Tailgate power latch
TV/Nav screen Option
Power lumbar adjustment (with memory seats)

Will these carry over to the 2007 LR3? I suppose the rest of us are stuck with the NAV override code which can be a pain but am thrilled that it exists!

* Navigation lockout disable: No confirmation it will be true in North America, yet. Probable, though.
* Single-press Passenger window: Confirmed.
* Tailgate power latch: No idea why they'd add another button. (You can do it now by pressing both the lock & unlock button.) Doesn't really make sense on LR3.
* TV tuner: 99.9% chance it's not going to make it to North America. I'd prefer a real RSE DVD on LR3, like RRS, first.
* Return of lumbar adjustment in LR3: Probable. (RRS already has it in 2006. So, it's not a new feature.)

Also, don't forget the modified/new instrument cluster... which includes clock functionality. Confirmed.

As always, "subject to change."
