If you leave the headlamps in the on position and remove the key, does the LR3 automatically shut them off to save the battery?
I couldn't find this mentioned in the manual.

My LR3 if you leave the light on, it chimes. It then states the follow me home lights are on. They never shut off. I think these are the parcking light. You can set how long you want the headlight to stay on after you turn the car off (30sec, 60 sec, 120 sec, 240 sec). This works but only after you manually turn the light off first.

Mine also will automatically shut off after the timed delay if the lights are in the "automatic position." I have not read the manual about the options.

Well, on a side note I have found that if you leave the key in the ignition with the lights on, they will turn off automatically in about 25 minutes when the battery goes dead. Found this out playing night bocci. :)

Since I really wanted to know, I left my lights in the on position (not automatic) with the key out and the doors locked last night. They do not shut off unitl the battery is dead. You would think that for over 50K they would have thought about this since other cars have had this since the early 90's.
Then again they also had all windows one touch...
I guess I am going to have to buy another jump starter since my wife will inevetiably turn them on while it is snowing and then forget to turn them off.

Yeah, they did think of it. That's why there is an automatic setting. :D

Which during an afternoon snow storm will never turn the headlights on.
Also the only way to turn the F&R fogs on is in the "on" position

Yup. This part is a pet peeve of mine as well. The fog lights should be controlled with an independent switch (like most well thought out cars), allowing the headlights to be in "automatic" all the time.

I also wonder, if they can give us the option of changing the length of time for the delay shut off, why not give us the option of no delay?... have the lights turn off when engine goes off no matter the position of the switch. I tried to find this option without success.
