New Here. Just bought an 11 HSE. I must say its a beautiful truck! Built like a tank. Coming from sports cars and only sports cars, it feels like a magic carpet around the crap streets in LA. (BTW Still kept the sports cars;-) ) Anyways, My plans for this truck include overland exploration. I Was looking to mount a set of Hella Hid euro beams on the front, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a company who makes a mounting bracket. My other 4x4 is a 78 Fj 40 so with that I just have to drill into the bumper and mount. I don't mind drilling here, but I'm not sure if the bumper cover is strong enough? Anyway Im talking too much. Pics soon, been moving to a new house and haven't found the camera yet! I really love this truck. Perfect for all my needs! :hello:

Hello LR4997,

Welcome to the forum! I have a 2011 HSE as well and love it. I got mine back in early February. You will find the people here are awesome and have made some excellent suggestions. Take a few minutes to look back over the posts about things we have been discussing like changing out the factory OEM bulbs, etc.

I am sorry, as I don't have any information on mounting brackets, but I am sure someone on here will reply with some great information.

I am also in CA, as are a few others on here, but I am up in the SF Bay area. I look forward to talking with you!

Regards, David.

Hey David,
Thanks for the welcome. My wife who is from Italy is dying to see San Francicso so maybe we can meet up! Im already planing to upgrade the headlight bulbs. I'll figure out the aux lights... I've been through every thread on this forum. Another good forum is expedition portal.com. I've taken a lot of inspiration for my future plans with this car from there, but not much activity with the LR4 there yet... Take care.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new ride.

As to your question, I was interested in doing the same. I have a set of IPF 900's that I converted to HID that I planned on using. I didn't have the heart to drill into the bumper. I was so hung up on the dealer not installing the license plate bracket for this same reason. I looked into the front protection bar from Land Rover and the Aux. light kit. Both are very nice accesories, and look to be very sturdy, only problem is drilling holes into the bumper. And the Aux. light kit requires 2, 2 inch holes, but its connected directly to the bumper support.

Thanks for all the input! Wow, those are some pretty complicated instructions for the LR driving lights! I'm not worried about drilling, so i guess ill order the lights and see what I can do! Ill post some pics of the install. Love this truck. Had an 08 RRSC which was a great car, but I actually like this one better. It seems useful. Just yesterday I folded the seats, put a 60" Plasma, 2 floor standing speakers and a bunch of stuff from ikea in the back no problem. Would not have been possible in the RR.....
