Instruction: Instructions to apply the Hood Black out
You will need...
*
squeegee
*
a friend to help
*
spray bottle
*
very small amount of liquid dish soap
*
possible a razor knife to trim
1. This is the most important step!!!
Clean the hood , the cleaner the better. Cheating at this point will hurt the life of the material drastically. The hood aligns in all section except for where the windshield is. This will be wrapped under the hood to complete the install.
2. After you clean the hood, make a solution of soapy water. One drop of Joy liquid soap to a whole spray bottle of water. This will be used on the sticky side of the graphic to allow it to slide into place.
3. Lay the graphic color side down on a flat surface. Remove the backing paper to expose the adhesive side. After the backing is completely removed, soak down the sticky side with the soapy water. This will stop the sticker from adhering to itself, and allow it to be moved into position.
4. Soak the hood down with soapy water, the wetter the better. This gives you all the time you need to move the piece into the position that you want.
5. Once you get it where you want, start to squeegee from the center out. Straight up and down the middle of the hood. This allows the material to stretch out to the outer edges. Keep the top of the graphic wet with the same soapy water to help the squeegee slide easily over the surface.
6. Now the sticker is secured into place, let it dry. Maybe running the truck, or using a heat gun can help you here. You want to get rid of any water that is left so you can roll the extra edge that is against the windshield side of the hood under the hood to make the sticker look complete. After two days it is set and can be treated as the rest of your trucks finish. Waxing and Clay bar only help the life of the material. Just don't hit it directly with a powerwasher.
