I’ve got a troubled bolt broken off inside one of these roof rail nuts (what are these called anyway?) and it’s not budging, even after quite a bit of work with various bolt extractors. I’m wondering if it would be easier to replace this nut, take it to a shop and have them cut it off and weld a new one on, or possibly drill this out and rethread it.
Anyone know how these things are secured to the roof? I can only see a bunch of softish substance surrounding it, which I believe is to prevent leakage to the interior.
Any tips are appreciated,
Ron
