I know that the 275/55R20 with Johnson Rods rubs a small amount at full lock in reverse, from several folks I have talked to. No one that I have talked to knows how much trimming is involved with going to a 285/55R20 or (more importantly) a 275/60R20.

My main question is does anyone know how much trimming would be involved and if it could be done to the point where they basically don't rub at all in normal driving conditions on the road?

Second, is width more prone to rubbing or height? As in should I go with the 285/55 over the 275/60? I would rather have the height than the width.

Also, the 285/55 is about $400 more for all 4 tires over the 275/55 and the 275/60 is only about $100 more than the 275/55.

Thanks for yalls help!

There's a lot of threads very recently discussing this. You should read through those first. It's been asked and answered dozens of times.

Long story short, your current rubbing issue is going to be the frame horns. Any tire larger than 31.5" diameter will absolutely need these trimmed to stop rubbing.
