Not sure if anyone here has run out of fuel on/off road. I did today. Make sure you understand clearly what happens. Power steering, power brakes and basically all control of the vehicle fails. If you're on the road/interstate and get caught up in a conference call while neglecting to realize you're fuel range reads '0' please slow down and pull over.

as a side note.. last weekend i drove around with the range at '0' for about 10 miles. then filled up and found out i had approx .8 gallons still in the car somewhere ... they should make the 0 blink when you are right on the cusp of running out of gas :)

I once ran out of gas at the exact moment the display went from 1 to 0, at the freeway off-ramp and less than a 1/2 mile away from the gas station. I don't think that countdown thingie is an exact science. Whenever it reads 20 miles or less, I get nervous.

For what it's worth, I perceive that the LR3s milage countdown is the most accurate of any vehicle I have or had. I pay attention to it, as oppose to my BMW or F-150, whose countdowns I generally ignore.

I like that I seem to have time to spare when the indicator hits 0.

In my experience when cars stall...it is usually MUCH harder to steer and break, but you can still do it. Was that the case with the LR3?

Did you use the LR roadside assistance to bring you fuel? It is listed on the benefits, but I never tried it.
