Has anyone else installed the new transmission pan and filter conversion kit. This replaced the 1 piece pan and filter and seemed to go pretty good, I followed all instructions and followed the torquing sequence, pain in the butt, but it developed a small leak on the back passenger side corner. I did not add any silicone seal on metal surfaces and now think I should have. I talked with Alantic British tech support and the only thing I didn't do was blow out each bolt holes prior to install. He said it has to be done. So it's going back on the lift and this time I will make sure I blow the bolt holes out and add min amount of silicone to ensure a good seal...
Anyone else do this conversion and leak problems?
Thanks

You shouldn't use silicone on the pan gasket. The transmission fluid can dissolve the silicone.

If the gasket is saturated in fluid.
You may have to get a new pan gasket.

was your gasket paper? some switch to the aluminum w/ rubber lip
(mine was/is paper and has no leaks - but not everyone has the same result)

also - making sure you switched to the shorter bolts, did not re-use your old?

Yes it was paper and I used the new bolts. I just received the new gasket from Atlantic British and will install this weekend.
Process:
Drain and remove pan
Clean trans mating surfaces and pan
Clean and Blow out all holes
Apply a very thin layer of RTV on pan
Make sure filter is seated and reinstall pan
Follow torque pattern using two step process, 1) torque all bolts hand tight 2) Go back through torque sequence using 6-8 ft lbs
Hopefully that fixes the small leak.
