I did some shopping around and made a decision to buy 4 Hella led lights. I also ordered a remote control switch so I could switch them without having to run a taggle up to the. Knowing that I didn't want to run a cables up through the pillar I assumed I would be able to tap into the aft electrical 12 V receptacle.

I've seen some of the builds on this site and they look amazing. I am no jedi, so I called a couple shops and the 2 I got ahold of told me it was A-day's worth of work so I was looking at a $1000 labor. Seems excessive in the dreams of having rough top lights are a wash.

Given that the rear receptacle is rated for a 180 W is it realistic for me to think that I could have a Wire harness made and split for the 4 lights and run up? No need for a relay with the exception of the remote control relay which I could bury back behind the air compressor.

Lights coming off the top just ruin your night vision. I know it is all the craze these days but lights below your eyeballs is much better. If it is just for lighting up a work area a nice headlamp places light always where you need it.

Just my view, but I am very over the roof light thing. I removed my roof light bar. never used in in practice and I am off road all the time. My ARB Intensity lights on the bull bar are way way more useful. Light spill on the hood sucks (And mine didn't even do that much since it was set back). Any amount of haze or bugs or snow or rain renders roof light useless.

They also make a lot of noise mounted like that.
