Interesting spare placement.

My Kia contact told me that's all fake: "Apparently some fashion designer who probably has never gotten dirty in their life tried to “toughen” it up," were his words. They haven't released any official or final shots of the production models yet. SOP for auto shows...

Yeah - auto shows are notorious for things that will never come to be. There's no way they'd let that spare placement fly in the US as it demolishes all rear visibility.

Kia is probably looking at Land Rover's current lineup and advertising and thinking to themselves, "If a vehicle doesn't need to look capable anymore, who's to say if it really is?"

Then they start down that odd direction where they have commercials with Kias driving the slickrock in Moab and car shows where they mount spares over the rear window.

Ha, for more than an hour, in a one-to-one meeting/setting, at a pre-agreed upon time, at a table inside the Owners' Lounge at the booth.

The Kia's front end looks like GMC, the rear end looks like Volvo. I don't mean either of those in a bad way.
