I have a 1996 Land Rover Discovery and I recently installed an aftermarket kenwood radio deck. Everything was able to hook up fine except for one problem, when I start the truck, the radio crackles and humms. This is ONLY when it is started though. When the key is on but the engine isnt running, the radio is crystal clear. Also, the noise responds to electrical changes like turning the lights on / off, revving the engine, or putting on the A/C.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

Also one more thing, I already tried grounding it directly to the chasis so that wasnt it. I heard from a few people that it might be the Spark Plug Ignition Cables not being insulated or something.

THANKS ALLOT GUYS!!!

Could be spark plugs or wires... what type do you have installed?

If your wires are copper core/non-resistor, they're probably the problem.

Ignition wires. Speaker wires can't pick up noise as they are on an output device
