If the locking stepper motor is not properly calibrated after a maintenance; can it damage the differential?

If it's not properly calibrated, I THINK it will throw a fault code and give you the "Transmission Fault - Reduced Traction" warning message. So... it should know not to engage the motor at that point.

You should try the re calibration function for sure. Try to re calibrate the transfer case as well.

Much appreciated I already installed a new motor and now they OEM shop are telling me I need a new Differential...YES ! minor cost to that one. That is why i have inquired so much about how exactly the terrain response system operates.. You have a rear lcoking diff lying around; let me know.
