I pull a 22' enclosed car hauler trailer with my LR3. Factory hitch and wire kit. No anti-sway or load leveling stuff. Prodigy controller. Loaded the trailer comes in around 5,500lbs. About 500 on the hitch. The Rover is a great tow vehicle. Love the way the height adjustment lets me hook or unhook without having to crank the trailer tongue up.

Actually, there is no problem using a sway control device on the LR3. You are not supposed to use a weight distribution hitch, but a sway control is a good idea. There is nothing in the LR3 that would get interfered with via the SC. The LR4 has some added towing tricks built in, but not the LR3.

Anyone using a high wall trailer over 20' is typically using a SC device. This is true even if you tow with a 3/4 ton diesel HD pick up. Sway can be induced by a myriad of things.

Bottom line:

Sway Control + LR3 = Good
Weight Distribution Hitch + LR3 = Bad (WDH confuses the suspension height sensors)
