Tribe,

Starting a new thread for a topic that doesn’t seem to have much information about it: LR4 Seat Covers.

Does anyone have thoughts or preferences?

My story:

When I first purchased my truck (2010 in Nara Bronze), I bought the OEM seat covers to protect the interior. I have to say that they have really served me well over the years. However, they are now disintegrating, and I am upgrading to something I have long wanted…but never bothered with due to the expense: Melville and Moon canvas seat covers.

I don’t know if the OEM seat covers are still available, but they are a fairly lightweight nylon cloth. The innovative thing about them is that they are all designed to snuggly fit over whichever seat it maybe…harder than it sounds. Over the years, however, between all the installations and removals, washing, and just plain old wear-and-tear…they lose their snug fit, zippers break, and stitching begins to shred.

Attached are a series of photographs of the OEM Seat Covers…starting with two which from the brand new (and nice and tight) seat covers (back in 2010)….

Here are the front seat covers today...

Much looser and the seams starting to rip out.

Here a few photographs of the rear / second row seat covers. You can see where I had to tape up (black duct tape) on the center cover...because the zipper disintegrated on me a few years back. So I just ducted taped it together....

And the third row seat covers (in near-perfect condition...since I have almost never used them).

After thinking about them for years, I really ordered the Melvill and Moon seat covers, and I have finally received them (about three months after my initial order – they custom make them by hand to order).

You can check out their website at

https://uk.melvillandmoon.com/seat-covers/

I ordered them in “Sand” color directly from their factory in South Africa, but I think there are a few retailers in the US.

This reminds me that I really need to get some sort of cover for the center console. I have a dog that thinks it is a great place to stand.

I need arm rests for my seats. They are all cracked up. I'm actually curious if Range Rover sport front seats would fit (same mount, connectors and pattern?). There are so many being parted out here in FL would almost be better to do a complete swap.
