Up for a couple of days in Mammoth. Any good trails/roads in the area that are fun?

Jim, I was up there not long ago. Found a bunch of COOL stuff just east of Bishop in the White Mountains (photos here: http://tinyurl.com/m6sm9).
Also, there are some neat trails in Mammoth itself. Laurel Lakes is good:

The White Mountains are amazing. You've got the Ancient Bristlecone Pine forest, the second highest mtn peak in CA, and miles and miles of trails in spectacular scenery. It's like Joshua Tree, but with grass.
