Just treated myself to a 06 LR3 HSE for Christmas. Traded in my old Honda truck. What an upgrade and perfectly suited to my daily driving. My house is 2.5 miles off the paved road with a 1200' elevation gain. The gravel road is covered in snow most of the winter.

I've read all the snow driving and hill descent threads. Very helpful. Thanks for the tips.

Wanted your opinion on service options. Nearest LR dealer is about 2 hours away. Lots of independent service shops within 30 minutes. My LR3 has 60K miles and is in great shape and I want to keep it that way. Do you think it is worth the extra time to get the service done at the dealer?

My only complaint so far is that now my wife wants one too

Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!

I agree. I have one dealer that is 120mi and they are awful. So I drive 250 to Seattle and they hook me right up with loaner and get it done when they say. I haven't had any emergent repairs yet though. (knock on wood)

im looking at purchasing an 2006 lr3 hse, Im getting quotes of $2000.00 a year for maintenance costs from a non LR dealer here in town, does this sound right??? Cause I can do the easy stuff like all fluid changes, brakes and filters, but is the cost so high cause of the air suspension and trans??

Personally I think that sounds high. Maybe this guy is just being conservative and projecting costs over the next 5 years?

If you average 15k a year, then I'd put it more at $750 a year for PURE MAINTENANCE. Not including fluids, brakes, repairs. This would amount to a 30k tune every two years.
