Well, I have an 05 V8 HSE wHD package and I am now getting my second round of suspension faults. At about 1000 miles my initial suspension fault bout came on. They replaced the compressor and it was perfect until about 100 miles ago. Now I am getting SF msgs again at around 6,100 miles. . .

Any new revelations about the suspension faults since about 6 months ago?

schafari,

There have always been multiple symptoms and multiple fixes all related to the suspension faults. I categorized them as follows:

1. If the suspension were not working while "faulted" such as leaving you in Access Mode or not raising or lowering, it was probably a compressor.

2. If it were faulting but still seemed to raise and lower, then it may've been a height sensor or a shorted-out control module due to moisture and such.

So, if you could describe your first go-round and the symptoms you are seeing now, it may help you get more information...from this board or otherwise.

Good luck.

Schafari,

I've had the suspension issues almost from Day 1. Compressor replaced to no avail. LR has been unable to resolve this issue. There is light at the end of the tunnel. You should be receiving a letter this month from LRNA (as will most LR3 owners except very recent builds) regarding a LR3 "Enhancement Package". This is a Service Action that will have your LR3 undergo a series of checks and software upgrades to several sytems. Included in this "action" is a visual inspection of your compressor with a possible compressor upgrade and work on the ingress/egress valves AND a software update. This service should take most of one day. More information can be found on the Land Rover GTR ($ubscription). Service Action Bulletin NA TSB SB034-SB036 affecting VIN LR3 5A000259 up to 6A390949.

Interesting. They did all those already... between when my air compressor was replaced a month or so ago... and the last service. I wonder if I'll get a "letter" anyway...

Houm,

Haven't rec'd my notification letter yet, but have contacted LR Bellevue about bringing mine in. Should hear something back this week. The UK dealers started the program this week so we can't be far behind.....hopefully. The enhancement package is slightly different over there with I think one extra issue looked at.

Mine's a fairly early build as I took delivery Feb. 2005. I have a long list of issues to have addressed and the updates might take care of quite a few so I'll wait optimistically...

Wow, that is a lot of code rewrites. I may just wait until I get notification to take it in. I love the truck, but the dealership situation is a bit of a pain for me. Local dealer were real jerks when I went to buy mine. Bought it about an hour away. (A really painful Dallas to Fort Worth and back drive.) I sure wish that LR would include a loaner for all service work, especially for repeat problems like the compressor.

By the way, by "two faults" I don't mean I have only seen the "rocking" LR3 light in my dash twice, I have seen that guy many times. I mean that it is now a antagonistic beacon that pops up almost on every drive again. I do look back fondly at my suspension fault ****** days however.
