I'm driving a 95 disco manual transmission and when i accelerate from low RPMS, 1000 give or take, it makes a kind of crunching noise, doesn't do it while in neutral and i rev it, or while cruising. It just does it under load. The noise sounds like a sped up version of an old car trying to turn off when it's still getting fuel but no spark... you know, when the idle is too high and so when you turn the ignition off it keeps trying to crank, eventually shooting fuel back up through the carb. I had my money on ignition, but my old man thinks it's something with fuel delivery. Could it also be that i put shell regular gas in it? It has been doing it since i got it. It is more pronounced with the A/C cranked up. Thanks in advance!

Check the condition of that Rotoflex POS of a rear U joint. Under load it may be metal against metal. I found a replacement driveshaft with a real steel U joint solved a lot of vibration and repeat replacements. Why throw good money on crap, kind of like the vacuum advance can that fail around every 19 months. Fixed at 1/3 stealers cost.
