I'm pretty sure my CATS are going bad. Rough running, low MPG, O2 sensor malfunctions, and bad exhaust smell. Was wondering where to buy these, without taking out a second morgage.
Thanks for the help.
Sorry must have missed your post... 2 choices buy online at a web store and then pay to have them installed or just go down to the local muffler shop and have them install some generic high flow cats... either way it should be less than $150 total.
Thanks Joey, but I went to Midas a couple of weeks ago and they said the only CAT they found for the vehicle was around $1100.00. I'm thinking more like you, if the inlet and outlet ports are the same size and roughly the same size converter it should work, right?
Remember the one side is a small thickness cat... this is the only one you may have any issues with... but a good muffler guy will make it work, just be careful not to let it get to close to things that might overheat.
Since it has been a while since I played with the exhaust I don't recall, but I will look it up. Unless someone on here gets the info before I do... I have to run out for work, so it will be this afternoon before I can get back to you.
My local muffler shop told me they will put magnaflows in my '99 D1 and that they've put them in a '98 before. Here is the link to the main website, but I'm not certain they are the best price out there http://www.car-sound.com/. I believe they have a 2" inlet and outlet pipe. Any good shop can cut the old cats out of the Y-pipe and weld these in with an adaptor. If anyone has experience with these or another brand, please chime in with info as I'm certain that I'll be replacing mine in the near future!
