Just got a 2012 and it had codes P0128 and P003C. It had no coolant and low oil, now changed oil so no P003c. Still with P0128 and low coolant on screen. Been adding distilled water to see where it’s leaking and noticed some water underneath the crankshaft pulley. I noticed that thermostat was replaced when? Have no idea. Should I just replace water pump, thermostat, and crossover?

On the coolant crossover should I install the metal or plastic ones? What is a good place to get parts? It’s a 5.0

i would only use JLR crossovers and metal are not available for the NA v8 so plastic. I would do the front and rear crossovers, thermostat and housing, waterpump and oil cooler to waterpump tube. I always us a vacuum filler on these engines as well when refilling the coolant. Easy engine to get air pockets trapped and the jlr v6 and v8 are completely intolerant of any overheating.

allegedly the metal one from that particular Jaguar aftermarket supplier do fit the NA AJ133 5.0-liter V8 if you call and ask though it shows Supercharged only on their site.

Lucky 8 also carries a kit UPGRADED COOLING KIT FOR 5.0L V8 NON-SUPERCHARGED though I have never used either one. I might switch to one of these later.

I think there are several other suppliers of metal cross over pipes as well.

Today took off the water pump, thermostat, front cross pipe and back cross over. Planing replacing both also notice the this hose flattened by the manifold. When installing the rear pipe is it recommended to take off the plastic clam on the wires to have better access? Do rear screws need to be torqued?

I did this a couple of years back. Don't recall re. The wires. No torque value for the screws. It's fun getting the rear pipe screws back in without dropping them into the abyss. I find a dab of hot glue on the head keeps them in the socket and avoids tears.

There's the coolant hose that runs through the valley (of death re. Heat). Suggest you change that too while you have access for peace of mind.

Burping the V8 coolant system is pretty easy. Just follow the standard procedure which involves raising the overflow tank by a couple of inches and you will be fine. No need for a vacuum filler per se. Just keep a can of coolant in the car as you will find it needs to be topped up over the next week or two as residual air comes out.

When I replaced my front and rear crossovers early this year, that same hose on mine was flattened as well from the last time I did the job. I bought a replacement and made sure it was laying correct when I set the manifold in place this time.

I pulled the plastic off of my wiring harness on the rear. Made it easier to reach things easier to reach back there.
