need the name of an accessory?

hoping someone can help. I need the name of a product for some university research. I saw a top gear programme a little over a year ago where clarkson drove a 4x4 (not sure which one and that sound really bad so i appologise) up a mountain. Two or Three times he needed to winch the car out of the ground using a pole which was doug into the ground. Does any1 have an idea what the product or system is called or even better any websites about it? its thepole im interested in.

He drove a D2, and the PullPal assisted him because there were no trees. It was amazing to watch (1) How far he made it with a stock-ish Disco (it had mud tires and a winch) and (2) just how stuck he got when he did get stuck.
