New Brake Squeal

Just had my 06 SE in for new brake pads and rotors. And get brake squeal occasionally, especially when stopping from low speeds, like backing out of driveway.

Any thoughts......dealership service over the phone said doesnt know why and states its normal.

Did they service the parking brake as well? That could be the source. Do a search for "pad seating" the just is to get the pads hot so they mesh better with the rotor, or something like that...(cue smarter members)

I bought my LR3 used back in November of 2008 from the dealer and they squealed from day 1. They said they had put new brakes on. I went by a few weeks ago for something else and asked one of the mechanics and they said it was normal.......?

In my case, I had my mechanic buddy take my brakes off and my rotors need replacing..not just machining..However, when I bought my 05 HSE this past Feb 09, the dealership had put new brakes on so my buddy has suggested that I just wait until the pads wear down before getting the rotors replace. My squeaking only kicks in occasionally so it's bearable..
