Hi Guys,

I'm picking up a leftover 2006 LR3 tomorrow. While I'm still going through this site to pick up some tips, is there anything I need to check in terms of software updates or any recalls? I know the dealer should do this, but he's getting the car tomorrow from another dealer, so the quick turnaround may mean that he'll cut some corners.

Anyway, looking forward to some trips this year!

Cheers!

In terms of recalls, dealer "A" would be breaking federal law seelling to your dealer without doing recalls, and your dealer would be guilty doing the same. Recalls are captive work, he'd be crazy not to do them. As for the software, the only way to tell is to plug it into IDS and run through the software, and that can take a while. I wouldn't worry that much about it, '06's were pretty good from the port. Just drive the car a while and see if anything sticks out, take it in and most repairs end up invoolving software anyway, and at that point the latest patch is usually installed.
Enjoy the car! Have fun!

I picked up a leftover '06. I had intial problems with the ride height sensors, a gas cap and I had them confirm alignment. Once those things were sorted the truck has run without issue. I've come to expect some sorting on the front end on every car, even my wifes Lexus.

Averaging 16.7 MPG over the last 2K miles and very happy with the truck. It suits my needs.

Oh yes, definitely have them check the alignment! Then have it run through the computer for updates, and you should be good to go.
