Hello
I just bought a 2015 LR4 HSE 3.0SC engine (62k miles). I am really enjoying the vehicle and have performed a simple service (oil+filter/air filters/cabin filter/dumped liquimoly injector cleaner in the tank and full checkup for leaks - thankfully none).
Unfortunately i do not have documented past services on the vehicle except that it was serviced at the dealer up to 23k miles)
After reading many threads here about the engine, as well as owning a 2010 jaguar XK 5.0, i realize that its a very sound idea to change the waterpump + 2 crossover pipes even though they are not leaking at the moment.
Questions:
1. Have the pipes been updated for the 2015 MY model thus negating the need to change them (as the chain tensioners guides were updated in 2013MY)?
2. I get some light hesitation and rough idle on the get go with the gear in drive, once the car gets moving it runs very smooth, as well as idling smooth, is this likely a tune up issue (fuel system flush/sparks) or a more serious matter?
I would appreciate any insight on these two issues as i am not so tech savvy and would not rather end up with a blown engine.
Cheers
