Is this the main cause for the check engine light come on? I have a '07 LR3 and some days the check engine light comes on and some days off.
I live in Toronto Canada, we are also transitioning to cooler weather.

Do you think this is the cause? That engin light is very annoying:mad:

Yes, good chance. Do you also have a rougher idle when it's cold outside?

yup, definitely a warranty item. They could probably do it while you wait if they had the part.

cool:biggrin:
I'm going to tell them to change it cause sometime sthey are not very smart. I had a 2007 Range Rover and wow some of the technitions were dumb! they would fix things that did not need to be fixed and charge me my left kidney:argh:

I gonna get them to hook it up and check the codes but also make them change the tstat!
I found that these threads are sometimes are a lot smater that the dealer:hmpf:

i also have a rear vent cover that I cant stick back on, get them to fix that too!

Sounds like a plan, no?

My '05 LR3 HSE had 3 Torx screws holding in together and it was the gasket. I took it apart in about 6 minutes last night and the new one should be in today. I was so tempted to put it back together after putting the seal back where it was supposed to be, but I held off.

Is this to fix your check engine light problem or to fix the rear air vent?

It's to fix the problem that I started this thread with. Rough idle and a check engine light that I used a scanner to tell me what was wrong. I don't have a problem with my rear air vents.

There are many things that can cause a light to come on. You shouldn't assume it's a thermostat without checking it out.
