I am surprised that you were able to buy a vehicle from the auctions which is not roadworthy. Are you able to take it back to them and get it sorted out? An auction should not be selling a vehicle that is not roadworthy.

Re the radio, sorry can't help.

Re the cruise control it's probably cracked vacuum hoses. Find the vacuum hose in the engine bay and cut off the cracked end and rejoin the hose. You'll most likely be able to get cruise to work again. This is a common problem and what I described there is a common fix.

Lawrance

The radio will show "CD" in the channel display unless you actually have one or more CD loaded in the unit under the right side seat.
Also check the release switch located above the brake padal, if it's not seated properly against the pedal arm it willnot close the vacumn line

As for the cd player you can load cd's put it in the player and it takes them out but when you go through the modes on the stereo it doesn't show cd on the display. Tim

AS for the turn signals all the bulbs are good. You can turn on the emergancy flashers and the lights work fine but nothing with the turn signal lever ? This one needs fixed.

Start simple: Check fuses, connections, things like that. It could be the switch as well...

Hey guys got the turn signals and cruise working. I'm not sure what I did on the turn signal "thats scary" but the cruise had both cracked hoses & the switch at the brake pedal had poped out of its mounting braket just enough that it wasn't making contact. Thanks for the help. Now who can help with the cd changer?

Thanks
Tim

RE: the signals -- welcome to The Cult of Lucas!

There are more weird things that happen with these British electrics than with any other make or model of car. Rover, Jaguar, Triumph, Aston-Martin, etc., all have crappy electrics.
