Ok, so I've been stalking this forum for a few months as I made my decision on a new vehicle. I was in the market for a seven seater suv and was almost certain I was going to go with a Tahoe Hybrid. Before I took the plunge though, I dragged my husband to the Land Rover dealership so I could test drive a Range Rover-- just to say that yes, I tested out my dream vehicle, but it wasn't the right fit for our family. Lo and behold, I see an LR4 in the showroom. What's this? A third row? hmmm... let's take it for a spin. I was sold. Sorry Hybrid and your enticing fuel mileage, but life is too short. That's awful, I know.

SO here I am, the proud, but not pretentious, owner of a 2011 LR4 HSE. I'll be stalking out in the open now and posting on other threads. I'm a week into new ownership and so far so good. If you're car shopping and want more perspective from a newbie, ask away. I hope I don't have too many issues to ask the veterans, but if so, I'm sure no issue will be big enough to cause any regrets. Well, I hope.

Welcome to the forum! And congrats on the new LR4. I just LOVE mine, it's been ages since I've really connected with a vehicle. And even if I have any annoying issues (not one so far) it'll never take away from the joy of ownership.

We are very happy with our LR4 as well. Yesterday we had a nasty storm come in over the mountains and cars and SUVs were all over the place. The only minor quirk we have experienced so far has been then tire pressure warning, but we had the same issue with our Honda.

Welcome aboard.

Any reverberating blunt force (pothole) to the tires can set off any car's tire pressure warning, especially if you have too much air pressure in the tires. If you haven't already, make sure your tire pressure psi is set as recommended by the manufacturer.

Smart move on the LR4 vs the Range Rover. I really think that the LR4 comes close in quality and size to the Range Rover and is nearly half the price - its really a tremendous value. The only thing I really liked on the RR was the virtual instrument TFT screen ... but that was more G-wizzy than practical. If you compared the LR4 to RRS, you find that the LR4 is even a SMARTER value. More size, same engine, 3rd row and exact same instrumentation and switch gear!! If you can live with the non-notched back and not so low to the ground clearance vs the RRS.

I cross shopped the BMW X5 and others and found after you optioned them the same, the LR4 still came out ahead and is far more unique than the X5, Lexus and others. The roads here in So Cal are FILLED with them. I probably only see 2 LR's (and I need add in the LR3) a month here in So Calif / Orange County! Enjoy your new ride!
