New to Land Rover

I just purchased an LR3 last week with 26K miles. Loving it so far...except the stereo. Reception in this area is poor anyway, but more so in this car to me. And what's up with the AUX jack? After finally finding it last night, I can't hear anything? Can anyone suggest a good fix, or a good after market stereo?
