Hello,
I'm planning on doing an oil change soon and I was wondering what the best type of motor oil and oil filter are for a 1996 Range rover HSE 4.6. Is synthetic needed?

Thanks,
Scott

Might want to do a quick engine flush on that engine, because of the high mileage, then use either a Mobil1 or a K&N oil filter and 15W?40 synthetic Rotella oil.
If you have any other question, shout.

and the pan and drain plug for the oil is the next to the front axle and closest to the frond of the car? THere seems to be two pans and im assuming that the other one that is further back and attached to the bottom of the transmission is for the transmission fluid?
thanks
scott
