My 1995 Disco reminds me of my first car. I was living in Trinidad and it was a Renault R12. Everything that could go wrong with a car went wrong with that car and so it is with my LR.

On my way from the bank this morning, the temp gauge started climbing and climbing, especially when the truck was at a stand still. I bought some coolant (This was the first time that I put coolant in the truck since I had it..about 5 years!). That did not work. After a few minutes of operation, the temp still goes up rappidly. The fans seem to be working.

I have never seen a car overheat as fast unless it had a busted radiator hose.... by the way there are no leaks.

Could someone help me please!!!!

If you haven't added coolant in 5 years, I would start by changing all the hoses, coolant and T-Stat and hope you don't have a bad radiator or Water pump.
