...I was having a little fun over the weekend on a fairly easy trail. Some loose rocks and larger boulders. It was dry but not dusty and there were several water crossings that we'd gone through.
After climbing a fairly long hill with a lot of loose rocks I came to a stop and applied the Parking Brake. The LR3 started making a horrific shrill sound (from the rear) and then let me know that I had a Parking Brake Fault. It displayed both the amber and red icons and the Info Center said either "Parking Brake Fault" or "Parking Brake System Fault."
I re-booted. The results the rest of the day were intermittent. Meaning...When I started the rig up it seemed fine, but when I stopped and applied the brake the whole scenario repeated itself. Later on the way out of there I got a "Reduced Engine Performance" message...although it seemed to be functioning just fine to me.
Finally, after driving at highway speeds I stopped at a power wash station to clean everything. When I parked in the stall I applied the Park Brake and it seemed fine. I turned off the rig. I then thought I should put it in Off-road Height so that I could clean the underside more easily. I started the LR3, raised it up and it started "singing" again and another Park Brake Fault occured. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the suspension height or if that was a coincidence.
I cleaned the car, paying special attention to the rear wheels and making sure to blow out any dirt or small rocks that may've gotten lodged in there.
....I haven't had an issue since.
Any ideas on what may've happened?
